Motivation Monday

Every holiday off is another opportunity to sleep in. At least, that's what I think.

So I'm currently taking a writing workshop class and my professor offered me an amazing tip that I wanted to share with my fellow writers here. I was discussing that I sometimes struggle with differentiating voices/personalities of my characters and that I've now been using what I like to call a Character Profile Template (You can find samples of these online).

She suggested I do more to distinguish my characters. Her advice was to create playlists for each individual character to represent their personality and I absolutely love this idea. Another suggestion she offered was to create a mood board, which I have done in the past. I love a visual reference. She also suggested placing my characters in different settings and see how they'd react to these obscure and random environments.
